Hello loves and Happy New Year! It's been a few seconds since I've been on here but I hope you guys had an amazing holiday and new year and are ready to start of 2022! I am currently writing this sick from bed with COVID, lol. It's ironic because I actually had covid during this time a year ago too. Thankfully, it just feels like a terrible flu but it definitely wasn't the way I wanted to start 2022. I had all of these ideas in my head about transforming into a brand new person and all of these crazy goals but I think getting sick really made me realize how much I need to slow down and listen to my body! Therefore, I decided to write this post about some of my new year resolutions and hopefully inspire a few of you to implement similar changes into your lifestyle!

  1. SLOW DOWN

So as I said earlier, getting COVID has really forced me to slow down and rest the past few days. I am honestly so proud of the things I accomplished in 2021 and all of the hard work I put into my blog and getting a new job as an assistant buyer but I also think I pushed myself too hard at time. I was always worried about not having enough content or waking up early on the weekends to get things done or working out every single day and not taking a break. In 2022, I definitely want to keep wokring hard and keep up my momentum but I also wanted to take those breaks that I need whether that's sleeping in on the weekend or skipping a workout or taking a few days off social media for a break. I think this will help keep me motivated and creative because I'll be giving myself a much needed mental and physical break.

2. SAVE MONEY

Yup, I said and you all know it. I have a shopping issue. I've always loved clothes and feel like I really did build part of a capsule wardrobe this year but I also spent too much money on clothes. In 2022, I am going to set up a budget for my monthly expenses overall as well as monitoring how much I spend on clothes, food, drinks, etc. I started setting up automatic deposits into my savings to happen every time I get paid as well as doing roundups in an app called acorns to help save & invest me money! I'm hoping to really get back into a routine with saving money in 2022.

3. GET UNCOMFORTABLE

I like to think I already do a pretty good job at this in general but I want to continue to push myself to get out of my comfort zone in 2022. I think pushing yourself to feel uncomfortable and do something new really helps you grow as a person and figure out who you are and what you want in life! It was super scary moving to New York when I knew no one but I'm beyond happy that I did and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! This year, I am taking my first solo trip to Portugal which I cannot wait for! I also want to push myself to go on more dates and have fun getting to know new people in the city.

I am so excited for a new year and all of the things that 2022 is going to offer! I hope you babes have an amazing year as well and learn new things about yourself and what makes you happy in life :)

XOXO,

Averie!
