Oh, Charleston! One of my absolute favorite places to travel to since I was a teenager and which I have visited over a handful of times since I was seventeen. It's full of amazing food, the best beaches, and so much history! Since I've had my fair share of visits to this amazing city, I felt like it was the perfect time to create the ultimate Charleston travel guide full of some of my favorite things to do and places to go that aren't your typical touristy spot!

Kiawah Island

This is about 45 minutes outside of downtown Charleston but it is hands down one of the prettiest beaches I've been to in Charleston and it was pretty secluded too. There's a resort and a gold course in the area as well but they have a ton of properties you can stay at right on the beach! Definitely more a family, relaxed, and chill vibe here! You should also check out the famous angel oak tree on the drive down because it is stunning!

Magnolia Plantation

On great activity to take advantage of while you're in Charleston is visiting the many plantations! My personal favorite is magnolias because they have absolutely stunning gardens to walk through. This is by far one of my favorite things to do in Charleston because they're not only beautiful but they also offer a lot history as you can walk through old slave quarters, see the inside of historically accurate homes, and more! However, I would suggest going early in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds!

Citrus Club

On my latest visit to Charleston, we got pre dinner drinks at the citrus club which is the rooftop bar at the dewbury hotel and it was such good vibes and had amazing views. The drinks were also amazing and overall it was just beautiful and I highly suggest grabbing a drink here!

Butcher and Bee

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Charleston was butcher and bee and I loved everything I ate! They had an amazing whipped feta dip and I highly suggest getting the bees knees drink with a sting! This isn't your typical souther Charleston food but it was still worth visiting in my opinion.

Shem Creek

Another great area to check out is shem creek! It's right on the water and has a lot of bars that have great views, live music, and fun drinks! Great spot to go out with friends for the night and has decent food too!

SNOB

I still say I had one of my best meals ever at SNOB. This restaurant has your classic southern food and I highly recommend getting the shrimp and grits or the market vegetable plate which was my personal fave! They also have live jazz music of the weekend nights which is so fun and lively and you can always stop by vendue rooftop for a drink afterwards because it's right around the corner!

Brown Fox Coffee

Ok so this is one of my absolute favorite coffee places EVER. It's the cutest little outdoor location that you can walk up to and order at the window and they have tons of fun flavored syrups and fun specialty drinks as well as fresh baked goods and protein balls. I highly recommend getting either an iced biz with oat milk or an iced salted caramel oat milk latte.

Avondale Wine and Cheese bar

I'm a sucker for a good charcuterie board and when it comes to meat and cheeses, avondale wine bar is the place to be in Charleston! You can build your own board, order delicious organic wine, and sit outside on the patio and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Daniel Island Waterfront Park

This is the perfect spot to go on a nice morning walk with your coffee and that's exactly what I did every morning during my last trip. You can walk through the greenery, be by the water, and overall it's just super quiet and relaxing. You can also stop by dime market right by where you park and grab a coffee and smoothie!

Ok loves that's all I have for now for my non-touristy Charleston travel guide! Can't wait to see if some of you check out these spots during your next trip to chuck town!
