My Best Purchases of 2020

As 2020 finally comes to end, I started thinking back to the insane amount of online shopping I did while bored in quarantine. As much money as I unfortunately spent, I definitely found some go-to products that I will continue to purchase because I just love them so much. Therefore, I thought I'd put together a list of my favorite purchases of 2020 so you can benefit from my shopping addiction! I hope I can help inspire your 2021 shopping or help you find something to use that Christmas moola on.

Nespresso Vertuo Machine

First up is my Nespresso Vertuo Machine that I purchased back in July when I came back to New York after quarantining at home in Kansas. This is by far one of my favorite purchases of the year and totally changed the work from home game for me. I look forward to waking up every morning and picking out the Nespresso pod I want and transforming into an at-home barista. If you love coffee, then this is definitely a must-have!

Hydroflask w/ straw lid

I am absolutely obsessed with this water bottle. When my roommate and I were apartment hunting in July, I accidentally forgot it at a greek restaurant in the lower east side and the next day I immediately ordered another from amazon. This keeps your water cold for hours and is so easy to bring with you everywhere. I swear it makes me drink 10X more water than I normally would and I love knowing that I need to at least drink 3 of these a day to drink as much water as I should be.

Free People "Happiness Runs Crop" & "The Way Home Shorts"

These two pieces from free people are 100% my favorite active wear purchases of the year and potentially ever. "The Way Home Shorts" are honestly the best workout shorts I ever bought and they fit incredibly well. They are super flattering and are very high waisted yet suck you in perfectly and flare out on the legs so they make you look really skinny! The "happiness runs crop" is equally as amazing and I have it in both black and white and honestly might have to order another color soon. I wear this as a workout crop or just to run errands and I don't have to wear a bra underneath and it really holds everything in perfectly.

Favorite Skincare Products

I bought a ridiculous amount of skincare products in 2020 so it was hard to choose my favorites but these 4 items are products that I will repurchase over and over again until they stop making them. I read about the ROC Deep Wrinkle Serum in the Allure's Best of Beauty 2019 awards and it really does deserve an award because I truly feel like it makes a difference in my skin's texture, helps with breakouts and hopefully by the time I'm 50, I'll have less wrinkles as well! I was influenced by one of my friends to buy the Elta MD tinted sunscreen and I can honestly say that I never want to buy another sunscreen. It is so hydrating, makes my skin glowy and dewy, and the bottle has lasted my since I bought it back in May. Now I haven't tried many vitamin c serum's but I really love this l'oreal revitalift serum. It has 10% pure vitamin C concentrate and it feels kind of tingly when you put it on so I feel like it's actually working. Last but not least is the Summer Fridays overtime mask. Now, I am obsessed with all things summer fridays but this overtime mask is hands down one of my favorites. It smells like pumpkin, helps with acne and improves the texture of your skin.

Best Clothing Purchases

This year I really focused on getting more basics when shopping and adding more items to my wardrobe. I feel like I was really able to curate my style based around classic pieces that I love and now that I have them I can create more fun outfits and looks! These are by far my favorite clothing purchases of the year and I know I'll have these items for years to come. This tan blazer from zara is such a classic staple to have and I throw it on with everything! This staple white tank from grey bandit is such great quality and definitely something I wore on repeat over the summer but I've even been layering it with some winter looks as well! I'm sure you all know about nike air max tennis shoes by now but I was so late to hop on the bandwagon and get a pair but I'm kicking myself now for waiting so long because I am obsessed with them and wear them 24/7. These black chunky chelsea boots have also become a staple in my winter wardrobe because they are extremely comfortable, i love the height they give you, and they make every outfit look that much cuter. This longsleeve shirt from everlane is such a great basic that I can't believe I didn't have it in my closet before because you can literally wear it with everything and dress it up or down. These levi's ribcage jeans absolutely changed my life because they fit my waist perfectly and aren't too tight on my legs which is so hard to find in a pair of jeans for me! Last but not least are these agolde parker jean shorts that I splurged on over the summer but I'm so happy that I did. They fit like a dream, are super soft, and comfortable which I feel is incredibly hard to find in a pair of jean shorts.
