My Three Daily Habits

Hello loves! As you can tell from the title of this blog post, I am going to be talking about five things that I do on the daily that make me feel my best. I really started trying to implement small things into my daily routine around the time of quarantine to help me feel like I have my sh*t together. You obviously don't have to do the things that I do everyday but I think it's important to find what makes you feel your best and implement them into your life as much as you can! It sounds cheesy but I seriously feel like having a good routine down and having a few simple things that are consistent in my life day to day has helped me hone in on what makes me happy and helps me get the most out of my life. With that being said, take a look below at my five daily habits!

  1. DRINK WATER

Ok, Ok, I know that everyoneeeee tells you to drink more water. But seriously, this is a game changer for me. I used to have a low key addiction to diet coke through high school and college and I would seriously go so long without drinking any water. After college, I realized I needed to change my ways so I bought a hydroflask and gave myself a goal to drink three a day. Nowadays I drink around 5-6 and I think its helped everything from my skin, given me more energy, and just makes me overall feel so much better. I also started to not let myself have any coffee until I've drank an entire hydroflask which helps a lot if you're like me and coffee can make you feel anxious! With all of that being said, listen to everyone you know and start drinking more water!

2. GO ON WALKS

Every since moving to NYC, I was basically forced to start walking more and it turns out, I love it! I would get so antsy after covid started and I had to work from home because I missed walking during my morning commute and my lunch break. I've also listened to so many podcasts with different health experts that say getting a certain amount of steps in a day is super beneficial for you! Some say it helps with staying fit, alzheimers prevention, improved brain performance and heart health, and much more. It's also just a great way for me to let off any steam after a long day at work or clear my mind if I'm feeling anxious or stressed.

3. STAYING OFF MY PHONE IN THE MORNING

So I know this is a hard one for people and trust me I'm not the best at sticking to it all the time but for the most part, I try to stay off my phone for the first hour of my day. Normally, before I start work I'll either workout or go on a walk so it's pretty easy for me to just hop out of bed and stay off of it for the most part. I'll obviously use it to listen to music or sometimes I'll takes photos to upload to my instagram stories later in the morning! I really think it's helped me disconnect and not checking social media first thing in the morning has truly helped my mental health and doesn't leave me feeling anxious for the rest of my day.

I hope this helps any of you who are potentially struggling to find a good routine or even just inspires you to implement something new into your day!

XOXO,

Averie!
